Neverending Poker

Introduction

Neverending Poker operates poker tournaments and needed a system to automate their entire operation. This basically falls into two categories; the website providing information to players and the public; a back office system that provides management of the tournaments.

Overview

The project required the development of several applications and commissioning of a file/webserver to provide a secure central point to manage the data. System requirements included:

• Website to provide information to members and the public with a news area which can be updated by the tournament director as each tournament is completed
• Integrated email system for notifying members of coming events
• Online registration system for new members
• Issuing of member cards with barcode to allow fast processing of tournament entries
• POS (point of sale) system for issuing player receipts, allocation of seats, calculation of prizes and recording of all transactions for audit

Fully automated processing from player registration on the website through to receipting of tournament entries and allocation of players seats.

Security levels control which staff members have access to which sections of the systems. Every entry is recorded with details of the staff member responsible so an audit can be conducted at any time. This ensures that all financial transactions can be securely tracked and verified.
